Empowering Families for a Stronger Community

Welcome to Duncan Foundation

Support for Families in Crisis

Mental health crises should not cost children their families. We connect households from North Carolina and beyond with urgent mental health funding, clinical guidance, and steady follow-up so care arrives when it matters most. Our therapist-led team listens first, completes a thorough needs assessment, then aligns grants and resources with the right level of support. We track results in real time, so every dollar preserves stability and safety. Available around the clock, we stand beside you through confusion, court fears, and hard decisions.

About Us

Born From the Gaps We Witnessed

We built Duncan Foundation after years of sitting with North Carolina families who were breaking under untreated mental illness, high costs, and slow, legal-heavy systems. As a therapist and MSW clinician, our founder saw children carry the heaviest weight when support came too late. Our response is simple and focused, get families rapid, clinically grounded access to mental health care so children’s futures are preserved, not sacrificed.

Our work rests on clear values, family preservation, clinical rigor, cultural awareness, dignity, and transparency. We treat mental illness as a root issue, not just behavior to manage. That means we listen deeply, complete thorough needs assessments, and match funding to the right level of care. As a Black-owned, therapist-led nonprofit, we honor each family’s culture, history, and faith, and we communicate in plain language so everyone understands the plan.

Services

Clinician-Led, Community Rooted

We built Duncan Foundation after years of watching families from North Carolina and beyond struggle with systems that respond to mental illness with paperwork and court dates instead of timely care. Led by Patrick Duncan, MSW therapist and coach, our team treats mental health as the root of many family crises, not an afterthought. We listen closely, complete a careful needs assessment, then match funding and support with real family goals. As a Black-owned, therapist-led non-profit, we track outcomes, respect culture, and protect children’s futures with every decision.
